Assistant Face2Face Director

I feel extremely privileged to be working for Kids Escaping Drugs. Day in and day out I continue to be impressed by the kids on the Renaissance Campus that I work with in the Face2Face program. Many people are quick to assume these kids must be “bad kids” because they struggle with addiction, however the kids I have the privilege of working with are selfless and brave. They volunteer to share their stories and experiences at area schools in the hope of preventing others from making the same mistakes. I have worked with kids from all different backgrounds and can 100% say that addiction is a disease that does not discriminate. The Renaissance Campus allows many adolescents to see their true potential and I’m proud to be a part of that.

Before coming to Renaissance House my life was a constant battle between myself and survival. I was in constant denial of any sort of addiction and believed that I had total control over my life. My parents would always ask why I was doing the things that I did, using, stealing and lying. The last thing I would blame it on was my drug use. I came to the Renaissance Campus right out of jail. I had been in countless inpatient programs before but never changed my ways. I would ask myself how this place was different? Eventually, I came to realize that what the other places lacked. This is an environment of love and care. I have truly had my eyes opened and can understand what the words kindness and love mean. Thank you for all the support I have received on campus. Thank you for all that you have given me – a new chance at life.

When I first came to the Renaissance Campus I was at the lowest point I have ever been in my 20 years of life. My drug use had progressed into a monster that I could no longer manage. I was on a downward spiral with no end in sight. Then I found the Renaissance Campus and I feel like a new person. I have learned how to manage my feelings, deal with anger, identify triggers and cope with them in a healthy manner. The family counseling helped to put my family back together and the Face2Face program helped to build my confidence and spread a message of hope. None of my success would be possible without the hard working people behind the scenes. Thank you for believing in me. I am forever grateful!

When I came to the Renaissance Campus I had hit rock bottom. I was powerless over my addiction and I was ruining my life. My family was blaming themselves for everything that I was doing. In the beginning, I wanted to be here but at the same time I didn’t but in the end, everything turned out great! The staff was welcoming and kind. Family counseling has helped me and my family come together again. I am grateful for everyone who has helped me and has believed in me since day one. You have helped me turn my life around.
