Loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend! Alan was all of these and so much more than his addiction. In his 35 years on this earth, he had such an impact on those around him and it’s a shame that there are people he never got to meet and not to experience the joy of being around him.
He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back (maybe not his Bills jersey though). He made friends wherever he went. He was smart, funny, and outgoing. His co-workers loved him, and he never expected anyone below him to do something he wasn’t willing to do himself. If the store he worked at got busy he was right, there working alongside them. Alan adored his family. He tried to be there to support his nieces and nephews as often as possible, especially in the sports they played.
Alan was always active in sports himself. He started playing football, baseball, and basketball as a kid and played all through high school. He continued to play softball as an adult. He loved Marvel comics and movies (he saw them all), Sabres Hockey, and the Buffalo Bills. Football brought us together as a family…we would spend football Sunday’s texting in a group throughout the game.
In honor of Alan, we have agreed to attend at least one Bills game each season. He was planning one for us to attend together as a family just before we lost him. The world lost a great guy when we lost Alan. Losing him has left a hole in the hearts of all those that knew and loved him.
